Sneak Peek
What Treasury is up to this month….
Um, sorry for that cheesy title. Check out a mini-review of the shop in today’s Express. Unfortunately, the price was printed wrong: the vintage clip-on bowties pictured are $32 each.
Fall is just around the corner, which means closed-toe shoes (sad). This also means you’ll be unpacking your winter heels and boots to face a new season of gravel, mud, rain, snow, sleet, cobblestone, brick and asphalt. The best way to make your vintage shoes last is regular maintenance. Winter outfitting usually includes making sure [...]
Ignore for a minute the fact that Susan Cadogan seems to be a mile away from the microphone and hone in her awesome bustier jumpsuit, beautiful hair and fanciful earrings. Plus this song is perfect for summer.
We’re featuring Treasury clients that catch our eye with their awesome style. Our inaugural client is Matthew Houston, who came in during Dog Days:
Button down with epaulets! Seersucker pants! Different colors of leather in one outfit! We love it!
Cut-out Shirt: $38
Levis ’70s Shorts: $44
Peep-toe Granny Sandals: $28
Yma Sumac has inspired us this season and beyond. Discovered via the incredible Jigsaw, there’s nothing in these looks we wouldn’t support. The weighty metal jewelry, the headpieces, the woven layers–we’ve tried to offer similar touches at Treasury. Outlandishness can really be appreciated in the fashion world and we support those going all out! Piling [...]
What we love about Good Wood is the absolute variety we see every time we step into the store (which is often). It’s not just farmhouse chic, or industrial heaviness, or mid-century focused. It’s all those styles and more. Whether we need to find an old dentist’s cabinet, a huge wooden navy trunk or a [...]
Our friends Beautiful Swimmers rocked some Aaron Broomfield at our opening party and we’ve been hooked since. The copper leggings, the pretty much shirtless cowbell player in the back with blue pants and the all-out tux are really doing it for us.
The Library of Congress Flickr stream can be a source of endless inspiration. These are from a set called “1930s-40s in Color.” Excellent! As for the DCers, visiting is pretty cool…though instead of getting books down for yourself like at a normal library, you put in requests and professional expert librarians get the books for [...]
Thanks to Express for featuring our favorite shoes ever today, come pick them up before they’re gone!!!
Making designer fashion your own? Fashion-hacking? It’s all here…but we don’t condone shoplifting. FYI Thirstin Howl III has also renounced stealing…
Yes, I own this album on CD and LP, is that a crime? Monochromatic looks for the menz for summer is a must.
Hand-dyed shift dress: sold
Boater’s hat: sold
Greek Pendant: sold
We will be featuring an outift a week to give you a taste of what’s current in store at Treasury!
I didn’t want to bring up Michael because the tragedy was too much…an immensely talented genius on so many levels destroyed by his own obsessions fueled by our obsessions…brings tears to my eyes. But I’ve had this video bookmarked for a while so I guess now is as good a time to share it as [...]
Kim Novak is my boyfriend’s dream girl, even after watching the questionable Bell, Book and Candle. I don’t blame him, we could all learn a thing or two from this woman’s kittenish mystery:
I think I will now and forever look away from cameras….
This summer, for the mens, we’ve got Montgomery Clift in From Here To Eternity on the mind. Swim trunks that are actually shorts, white army-issue t-shirts and the odd Hawaiian shirt (from the ’50s, actually made in Hawai’i, depicting foliage not flowers) are all crucial for beaching and drinking.

More relevant art from the artist, especially because I want this outfit:
